American Youth Vincenzo Bernardo To MLS

Bernardo

Vincenzo Bernardo, a 19 year old striker has left Napoli of Serie A in Italy and is reported by ESPN to want to join the MLS.  A star on the American U-20 team Bernardo has trained with the first team at Napoli but only saw action with the youth squad.  If he returns to the MLS via the MLS allocation policy Dallas will have the first chance to sign him, followed by Colorado, and then Kansas City. He came up with the Red Bulls youth system and is from New Jersey.

Hopefully this is a good sign that he is commited to the US National team unlike another Italian-American, *cough* Rossi *cough*, becasue he is one of the stars of the future who could make an impact quite soon.

Hopefully he could sign with New England or Dallas and fill some of those empty seats. He’d sure help manfacture results in the win column!

Whoa this is a surprise. I heard really good things from this kid. Hopefully he tears it up over here so he can start getting calls to the National team. Basically as long as he develops well he should be a part of our countries future. Do you know if he has a choice between Italy and USA? If he does I’m pretty sure he’ll choose us… but does he have a choice?
